Abstract

In the competitive manufacturing industry, product quality is a key determinant of a company’s competitiveness. PT Growell Indo Metal has faced increasing customer complaints regarding defective products, such as labeling errors and specification mismatches, which threaten its reputation, customer trust, and pose financial risks. Product quality is closely linked to employee performance, where stress, excessive workload, and lack of competence can trigger production errors. This study aims to analyze the effect of competence, workload, and work stress on employee performance at PT Growell Indo Metal. The research method used is quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistic 24, including classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that competence has a significant positive effect on employee performance, while workload and work stress have significant negative effects. Simultaneously, these three variables influence employee performance, indicating that balanced management of competence, workload, and work stress is essential for improving performance at PT Growell Indo Metal.
