Abstract

Frontliners play a crucial role in shaping the bank’s initial image, thus requiring a high level of competence. At Bank XYZ KCU Semarang, training and mentoring have been routinely implemented, yet varying levels of employee performance indicate the influence of other factors, such as self-efficacy. Human Resource Development Theory and Social Cognitive Theory are used to examine the influence of training (X1) and mentoring (X2) on competence (Y), mediated by self-efficacy (Z). This study employed a quantitative approach involving 53 respondents, with multiple regression analysis and Sobel tests. The results show that training, mentoring, and self-efficacy affect competence, and self-efficacy successfully mediates the influence of training and mentoring on competence.

Additional Information: Frontliner memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk citra awal bank, sehingga membutuhkan kompetensi yang tinggi. Di Bank XYZ KCU Semarang, pelatihan dan mentoring telah dilakukan secara rutin, namun performa kerja yang masih beragam menunjukkan adanya faktor lain, seperti self-efficacy. Teori Human Resource Development dan Social Cognitive digunakan untuk menguji pengaruh pelatihan (X1) dan mentoring (X2) terhadap kompetensi (Y) dengan dimediasi oleh self-efficacy (Z). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan 53 responden serta analisis regresi berganda dan uji Sobel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan, mentoring, dan self-efficacy berpengaruh terhadap kompetensi, serta self-efficacy mampu memediasi pengaruh pelatihan dan mentoring terhadap kompetensi.
