Abstract

This study purpose to analyse the effect of work-life balance and compensation on turnover intention with job stress as a mediating variable. This research uses quantitative methods. The research sample consisted of 75 respondents from PT XYZ employees who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The data was analysed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method with the SmartPLS application. The results showed that: 1) work-life balance has a significant negative effect on turnover intention; 2) work-life balance also has a significant negative effect on job stress; 3) job stress has a significant positive effect on turnover intention; 4) compensation has no significant effect on turnover intention; 5) compensation has a significant negative effect on job stress; 6) job stress mediates significantly the relationship between work-life balance and turnover intention; and 7) job stress does not mediate the relationship between compensation and turnover intention. These findings provide important insights for management in designing policies that support work-life balance and give employees the opportunity to improve their work-life balance. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 75 responden dari karyawan PT. XYZ yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) work-life balance berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap turnover intention; 2) work-life balance juga berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap stres kerja; 3) stres kerja berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap turnover intention; 4) kompensasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap turnover intention; 5) kompensasi berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap stres kerja; 6) stres kerja memediasi secara negatif signifikan hubungan antara work-life balance dengan turnover intention; dan 7) stres kerja tidak memediasi hubungan antara kompensasi dengan turnover intention. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi manajemen dalam merancang kebijakan yang mendukung keseimbangan kerja-hidup dan memberikan kompensasi yang adil untuk meningkatkan retensi karyawan.
