Abstract

This study investigates the influence of performance expectancy and effort expectancy on digital banking use behavior among Millennials and Gen Z in Banyumas Regency, exploring the mediating role of attitude. Utilizing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the research surveyed 400 respondents, employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings indicate that both performance expectancy (β=0.377, p<0.001) and effort expectancy (β=0.283, p<0.001) significantly and positively influence digital banking use behavior. Furthermore, these expectancies also positively shape users' attitudes towards digital banking (PE: β=0.428, p<0.001; EE: β=0.277, p<0.001), which in turn significantly drives use behavior (β=0.242, p<0.001). Importantly, attitude acts as a significant partial mediator, amplifying the impact of both performance expectancy (β=0.104, p<0.001) and effort expectancy (β=0.067, p<0.001) on digital banking use behavior. The model explains 61.8% of the variance in digital banking use behavior, highlighting the crucial interplay between perceived benefits, ease of use, attitudes, and aktual use behavior. These results underscore the importance for financial institutions to focus on demonstrating tangible benefits and ensuring user-friendly interfaces to foster positive attitudes, ultimately enhancing digital banking uptake among younger demographics.

Kedua ekspektasi tersebut juga secara positif membentuk sikap nasabah terhadap digital banking (PE: β=0,428, p<0,001; EE: β=0,277, p<0,001), yang selanjutnya secara signifikan mendorong Perilaku (β=0,242, p<0,001). Temuan krusial adalah sikap berperan sebagai mediator parsial yang signifikan, memperkuat dampak performance expectancy (β=0,104, p<0,001) dan effort expectancy (β=0,067, p<0,001) terhadap Perilaku digital banking. Model ini berhasil menjelaskan 61,8% varians dalam Perilaku digital banking, menggarisbawahi interaksi penting antara persepsi manfaat, kemudahan penggunaan, sikap, dan perilaku aktual. Implikasinya, institusi keuangan perlu memprioritaskan demonstrasi manfaat nyata dan antarmuka yang ramah pengguna untuk menumbuhkan sikap positif dan meningkatkan perilaku layanan perbankan digital di kalangan demografi muda.
