Abstract

The phenomenon of burnout among teachers is a crucial issue affecting the quality of education in Indonesia. Surveys indicate a high percentage of teachers experiencing burnout and stress, which impacts their performance and the quality of learning. This study aims to analyze the influence of workload, work-life balance, and social support on teacher burnout, focusing on the context of public elementary and junior high school teachers in Pekalongan Regency. A quantitative research method with a survey approach was employed. The study's population comprised all 5,437 public elementary and junior high school teachers in Pekalongan Regency. A sample of 98 respondents was selected using a Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results indicate that workload does not significantly affect burnout. In contrast, work-life balance and social support were found to have a significant negative influence on burnout, meaning that better work-life balance and higher social support lead to lower levels of teacher burnout. Furthermore, a significant difference in burnout levels was observed between elementary and junior high school teachers, with junior high school teachers tending to experience higher burnout. This study concludes that strengthening job resources such as work-life balance and social support is vital in mitigating teacher burnout, which in turn contributes to improving teacher well-being and educational quality.
