Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of workload, organizational culture, social support, and fear of people's opinion on the level of burnout in Generation Z employees in the retail industry in Semarang City. Using an explanatory research approach, this study involved 100 respondents of Generation Z employees aged 18-27 years old who have worked for at least 6 months, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5 and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The burnout instrument was adapted from the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). This study used Affective Events Theory (AET) as a foundation to explain the relationship between job demands, resources, and burnout. This theory provides an understanding of how negative affective experiences, such as work pressure and social interactions in the workenvironment, can trigger emotional stress that ultimately leads to burnout. The results of the study are expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions in the development of strategies to prevent and manage burnout among Generation Z employees in the retail industry.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh beban kerja, budaya organisasi, dukungan sosial, dan fear of people's opinion terhadap tingkat burnout pada karyawan Generasi Z di industri retail Kota Semarang. Menggunakan pendekatan explanatory research, penelitian ini melibatkan 100 responden karyawan Generasi Z berusia 18-27 tahun yang telah bekerja minimal 6 bulan, dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala Likert 1-5 dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Instrumen burnout diadaptasi dari Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Penelitian ini menggunakan Affective Events Theory (AET) sebagai landasan untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara tuntutan pekerjaan, sumber daya, dan burnout. Teori ini memberikan pemahaman bagaimana pengalaman afektif negatif, seperti tekanan kerja dan interaksi sosial di lingkungan kerja, dapat memicu stres emosional yang pada akhirnya berujung pada burnout. Hasil penelitian diharapkan memberikan kontribusi teoretis dan praktis dalam pengembangan strategi pencegahan dan penanganan burnout pada karyawan Generasi Z di industri retail. |
