Abstract

This objective of this study is to examine the rate of growth of intellectual capital (ROGIC) and its effect on the profitability of Islamic commercial banks (BUS)in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed, using secondary data from the annual reports of seven BUS listed with the Financial Services Authority for the period 2016-2022. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test and Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SPSS and SmartPLS 4.1 software. The results show that a significant difference between the current and future profitability of BUS, while hypothesis testing indicates that ROGIC does not significantly impact the current profitability of BUS. In contrast, ROGIC has a positive and significant effect on the future profitability of Islamic commercial banks. Therefore, The study recommends that BUS in Indonesia manage intellectual capital effectively to enhance profitability both now and in the future. . Additional Information:	Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis laju pertumbuhan modal intelektual (ROGIC) dan dampaknya terhadap profitabilitas Bank Umum Syariah (BUS) di Indonesia. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan data sekunder dari laporan tahunan tujuh BUS yang tercatat di Otoritas Jasa Keuangan untuk periode 2016-2022. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji beda (Wilcoxon Signed Ranks) dan Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) dengan software SPSS dan SmartPLS 4.1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara profitabilitas BUS saat ini dan masa depan. Uji hipotesis mengungkapkan bahwa ROGIC tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap profitabilitas BUS pada masa kini.
