Abstract

One of the decisions encountered corporate managers in relation to continuity of operations is the decision of financing or capital structure decisions. decisions are not carefully done will lead to fixed costs in the form of high capital costs that could result in lower profitability. This study aims to determine the factors that influence capital structure. The population in this study is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Samples used in this study as much as 45 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the year 2006-2010 which were selected using purposive sampling method. The analytical method used is multiple regression analysis. The results of regression analysis showed that firm size, leverage has a positive effect on capital structure, profitability negatively affect the capital structure. While business risk, asset growth and ownership structure does not affect the capital structure. Adjusted R-squared value indicates the value of 28.4%, and the rest are be affected by other variables not examined in this study.
