Abstract

Irrational behavior or behavioral biased is a factor that influences investment decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effect of biased behavior through representativeness bias, hindsight bias, herding bias, overconfidence bias, and regret aversion variables on investment decisions in the capital market. This study used a quantitative method with data collection techniques using questionnaires distributed to investors with a sample of 100 active student respondents in the undergraduate program (S1) of tertiary institutions in Semarang City. The analysis technique uses the Partial Least Square technique in the SmartPLS program. The results of this study indicate that: (1) representativeness bias affects investment decisions in the capital market; (2) hindsight bias affects investment decisions in the capital market; (3) herding bias has no effect on investment decisions in the capital market; (4) overconfidence bias affects investment decisions in the capital market; and (5) regret aversion affects investment decisions in the capital market.

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perilaku bias melalui variabel representativeness bias, hindsight bias, herding bias, overconfidence bias, dan regret aversion terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada investor dengan sampel 100 responden mahasiswa aktif program sarjana (S1) Perguruan Tinggi di Kota Semarang. Teknik analisis menggunakan teknik Partial Least Square pada program SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) representativeness bias berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal; (2) hindsight bias berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal; (3) herding bias tidak berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal; (4) overconfidence bias berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal; dan (5) regret aversion berpengaruh terhadap keputusan investasi di pasar modal.
