Abstract

The success of culinary businesses is highly influenced by the quality of human resources, especially in businesses that operate 24 hours such as Warmindo (Warung Makan Indomie). Long working hours, shift systems, and high work intensity may affect employees’ work-life balance, work environment, and job satisfaction, which in turn impact employee performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and work environment on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable among Warmindo employees in Semarang City. This research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design and a cross-sectional method. The sample consists of 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results show that work-life balance and work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee performance and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and acts as a partial mediating variable. These findings indicate that employee performance is influenced by work-life balance, a conducive work environment, and the level of job satisfaction. Keywords: Work-Life Balance, Work Environment, Job Satisfaction, Employee Performance, Warmindo.
