Abstract

The success of an organization or company is due to the performance of employees, which in this study is influenced by career development, compensation and job satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of career development (X1) and compensation (X2) on employee performance (Y) through job satisfaction (Z). This research method is population and sample of 64 casual daily employees (PHL) of SAMSAT Kota Semarang I, Jl. Brigjend. Sudiarto 428, Semarang, totaling 64 people. The data collection technique was a questionnaire. The analysis technique used was Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study indicate that career development and compensation have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Career development and compensation have a positive effect on employee performance. Job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance. Career development has a positive effect on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediator. Compensation has a positive effect on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediator. The suggestion given is that leaders should pay attention to the career development of casual daily employees (PHL), leaders can provide additional incentives in the form of overtime money or other financial additions when employees receive more tasks and have to complete them beyond working hours and leaders should consider educational competency, expertise, skills or work experience when assigning tasks to employees as well as clarity in job descriptions, so that employees carry out the tasks they have mastered and their authority is clear.

Additional Information: Berhasilnya suatu organisasi atau perusahaan disebabkan oleh penampilan kinerja pegawai di mana dalam penelitian ini dipengaruhi oleh pengembangan karir, kompensasi dan kepuasan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh pengembangan karir (X1) dan kompensasi (X2) terhadap kinerja pegawai (Y) melalui kepuasan kerja (Z). Metode penelitian ini populasi dan sampel 64 pegawai harian lepas (PHL) SAMSAT Kota Semarang I, Jl. Brigjend. Sudiarto 428, Semarang yang berjumlah 64 orang. Teknik pengumpulan datanya kuesioner. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karir dan kompensasi berpengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan kerja. Pengembangan karir dan kompensasi berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pegawai. Kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pegawai. Pengembangan karir berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan kepuasan kerja sebagai mediasi. Kompensasi berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan kepuasan kerja sebagai mediasi. Saran yang diberikan sebaiknya pimpinan memberi perhatian terhadap pengembangan karir pegawai harian lepas (PHL), pimpinan bisa memberi tambahan insentif berupa uang lembur atau tambahan finansial lainnya ketika pegawai mendapatkan lebih banyak tugas dan harus menyelesaikannya melebihi jam kerja serta pimpinan sebaiknya mempertimbangkan kompetensi pendidikan, keahlian, ketrampilan ataupun pengalaman kerja ketika memberikan tugas kepada pegawa serta juga kejelasan deskripsi tugas, agar pegawai menjalankan tugas yang dikuasai dan kejelasan wewenang dimiliki.
