Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of teacher motivation and professional competence on teacher performance, as well as examines the role of school principal leadership as a moderating variable in these relationships. The research population consists of 544 elementary school teachers from 68 schools in Tegal Regency under the leadership of principals participating in the Teacher Mover program. The number of respondents collected exceeded the target, totaling 147 respondents. The data analysis method used in this study is SEM-PLS analysis. The results show that teacher motivation and professional competence have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. However, school principal leadership does not function as a moderating variable in the relationship between motivation or professional competence and teacher performance.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh motivasi dan kompetensi profesional guru terhadap kinerja guru, serta menganalisis peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah sebagai variabel moderasi dalam hubungan tersebut. Populasi penelitian mencakup 544 guru SD dari 68 sekolah di Kabupaten Tegal di bawah kepemimpinan kepala sekolah peserta program Guru Penggerak. Jumlah pengumpulan responden yang berhasil terkumpul melebihi target yaitu 147 responden. Metode analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SEM-PLS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi dan kompetensi profesional guru berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Namun, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah tidak berperan sebagai variabel moderasi dalam hubungan antara motivasi maupun kompetensi profesional guru terhadap kinerja guru.
