Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine empirically the influence of income (direct extrinsic compensation, indirect extrinsic compensation and non-financial extrinsic compensation) on the effectiveness of the local government staff head’s performance. Sample of this research are taken from the population of the local government staff heads in Semarang City, especially heads of local government staff according to the Central Government’s Rules 84/2000. Data were collected by survey of questionnaires. Respondents who participated in this research are 49 respondents. A multiple regression technique was applied to analyze the influence of three independent variables simultaneously (direct extrinsic compensation, indirect extrinsic compensation and non-financial extrinsic compensation) on dependent variables (the effectiveness of the local government staff head’s performance). While to examine each influence of independent variable on dependent variable was applied the simple regression. Some result indicate that there is no influence of direct extrinsic compensation, while indirect extrinsic compensation and non-financial extrinsic compensation influence on the effectiveness of local government staff head’s performance.
