Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Total Asset Turnover (TATO), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) in enhancing Return on Equity (ROE) of state-owned banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2019–2024. Theoretically, this research is based on the DuPont Analysis framework, which explains that ROE is influenced by profit efficiency, asset productivity, and corporate financing structure. This study employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis on secondary data from financial statements of five state-owned banks. The results indicate that Net Profit Margin (NPM), Total Asset Turnover (TATO), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) have positive and significant effects on Return on Equity (ROE), both partially and simultaneously. These findings suggest that improvements in operational efficiency, effective asset utilization, and optimal leverage management can strengthen the profitability of state-owned banks and increase shareholder returns.
