Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of work engagement on employee performance, mediated by work–life balance from a social exchange theory perspective (A Case Study of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Offices in Klaten, Boyolali, and Surakarta). This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach combined with a verification research method. The population of this study consists of 103 permanent employees of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Offices in Klaten, Boyolali, and Surakarta. A saturated sampling technique (census) was applied, whereby all population members were included as respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with SmartPLS version 4 software. The findings indicate that work engagement has a direct positive effect on both work–life balance and employee performance. Furthermore, work–life balance has a positive effect on employee performance. In addition, work–life balance mediates the relationship between work engagement and employee performance at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Offices in Klaten, Boyolali, and Surakarta.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh work engagement terhadap kinerja pegawai dimediasi work-life balance dari perspektif social exchange theory (Studi Kasus BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Klaten, Boyolali dan Surakarta). Penelitian ini memanfaatkan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif yang dipadukan dengan metode penelitian verifikatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan definitif BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Klaten, Boyolali dan Surakarta sebanyak 103 pegawai. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sampel jenuh atau sensus. Adapun cara mendapatkan responden penelitian menggunakan instrumen kuesioner google form. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) menggunakan software SmartPLS versi 4. Dari hasil temuan penelitian dan pembahasan maka disimpulkan bahwa work engagement secara langsung berpengaruh positif terhadap work-life balance dan kinerja pegawai. Kemudian, work-life balance berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pegawai. Adapun work-life balance mampu menjadi mediasi pengaruh work engagement terhadap kinerja pegawai BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Kantor Cabang Klaten, Boyolali dan Surakarta. |
