Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of leaders’ ethical behavior on employee well-being with the mediating roles of workplace embitterment and employee engagement. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach and a verificative method. The population consists of 72 employees at the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Office of Demak Regency. The sampling technique used in this study is saturated sampling. Respondents were obtained through a questionnaire distributed via Google Form. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method with SmartPLS software. The findings and discussion reveal that leaders’ ethical behavior has a significant positive effect on employee well-being. Furthermore, leaders’ ethical behavior has a significant positive effect on employee engagement but a significant negative effect on workplace embitterment. In addition, workplace embitterment has a significant negative effect on employee well-being, while employee engagement has a significant positive effect on employee well-being. Both workplace embitterment and employee engagement are found to play mediating roles in the relationship between leaders’ ethical behavior and employee well-being. | Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perilaku etis pemimpin terhadap kesejahteraan karyawan dengan peran mediasi workplace embitterment dan keterlibatan karyawan. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif serta metode verifikatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pegawai di Kantor DPRD Kabupaten Demak sebanyak 72 pegawai. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sampel jenuh. Adapun cara mendapatkan responden penelitian menggunakan instrumen kuesioner google form. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) menggunakan software SmartPLS. Dari hasil temuan penelitian dan pembahasan maka disimpulkan bahwa ethical behavior of leaders memberikan pengaruh postif signifikan terhadap employee well-being. Kemudian ethical behavior of leaders memberikan pengaruh postif signifikan terhadap employee engagement namun memberikan pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap workplace embitterment. Selanjutnya workplace embitterment memberikan pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap employee well-being. Sedangkan employee engagement memberikan pengaruh postif signifikan terhadap employee well-being. Adapun workplace embitterment dan employee engagement mampu berperan sebagai mediasi pada pengaruh ethical behavior of leaders tehadap employee well-being. |
