Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and work shift on employee productivity at Alfamart in Semarang City, with work stress as a mediating variable. Theoretical approaches applied in this research are the Goal Setting Theory and the Job Demand-Control Model. A quantitative method was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 89 Alfamart employees in Semarang. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee productivity, while work shift has a negative and significant effect on employee productivity. Work stress is proven to partially mediate the relationship between work-life balance and productivity, as well as between work shift and productivity. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining work-life balance and implementing appropriate shift scheduling to enhance employee productivity and reduce work stress.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa work life balance berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja, sedangkan work shift berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja. Stres kerja terbukti berperan sebagai variabel mediasi parsial dalam hubungan antara work life balance dan produktivitas kerja, serta hubungan antara work shift dan produktivitas kerja. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya keseimbangan kehidupan kerja serta penjadwalan kerja yang tepat untuk meningkatkan produktivitas karyawan dan mengurangi stres kerja. |
