Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of authentic leadership on employee engagement, with employee trust as a mediating variable, at Bimapoint Training Center Semarang. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 (thirty) employees as respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using SmartPLS software version 3. The results reveal that authentic leadership does not have a direct effect on employee engagement. However, authentic leadership has a significant positive effect on employee trust, and employee trust significantly affects employee engagement. Furthermore, employee trust is found to fully mediate the relationship between authentic leadership and employee engagement. These findings highlight that employees’ trust in their leaders is a crucial prerequisite for authentic leadership to positively impact work engagement.The implications of this research emphasize the importance of fostering authentic leadership supported by a workplace culture that builds trust. In addition to contributing to the theoretical literature on leadership and engagement, the findings also provide practical recommendations for managers or leaders in creating healthy and productive work relationships. Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh authentic leadership terhadap employee engagement dengan employee trust sebagai variabel mediasi pada Bimapoint Training Center Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dari 30 (tiga puluh) karyawan sebagai responden. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) menggunakan software SmartPLS versi 3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa authentic leadership tidak berpengaruh langsung terhadap employee engagement. Namun, authentic leadership berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap employee trust, dan employee trust berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap employee engagement. Lebih lanjut, employee trust terbukti memediasi secara penuh hubungan antara authentic leadership dan employee engagement. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kepercayaan karyawan terhadap pemimpinnya merupakan prasyarat penting agar kepemimpinan otentik dapat berdampak positif terhadap keterlibatan kerja. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pengembangan kepemimpinan otentik yang didukung oleh budaya kerja yang menumbuhkan kepercayaan. Selain kontribusi teoretis terhadap literatur kepemimpinan dan keterlibatan kerja, hasil penelitian ini juga memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi manajer atau pemimpin dalam membangun hubungan kerja yang sehat dan produktif.
