Abstract
ABSTRACT In the era of globalization, competition in the business world is becoming increasingly intense. Companies are compelled to deliver innovation and optimal performance to survive and thrive in such a competitive environment. This can be achieved by enhancing employee performance, which in turn increases productivity and work quality in line with organizational expectations. One of the critical success factors in this context is the development of human resources. This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and work environment on human resource performance among Generation Z employees in South Kalimantan, with organizational commitment serving as a mediating variable. The study involved a sample of 140 respondents selected through purposive sampling from private-sector employees in technology companies located in South Kalimantan. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results reveal that transformational leadership has a positive and significant impact on human resource performance, organizational commitment, and the work environment, with commitment playing a mediating role in these relationships. Furthermore, the work environment also significantly influences human resource performance through organizational commitment as a mediating variable. These findings offer valuable insights for companies aiming to improve employee performance by implementing transformational leadership and fostering a supportive work environment.
