Abstract
This research aims to examine the influence of employee competency on innovative performance behavior, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable, in addition to analyzing the influence of human resource (HR) competency and organizational commitment on innovative work behavior, as well as the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between competency. and innovative performance. Although many previous studies show that competence has a positive effect on innovative work behavior, different results have also been found, including research by Bodo (2017) which states that organizational commitment has no effect on innovative work behavior. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method to measure the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The research results show that employee competency has a significant positive influence on organizational commitment, with an original sample value of 0.744 and a p-value of 0.000. In addition, organizational commitment plays an important role in encouraging innovative work behavior, where employees who have high commitment are more involved in innovation activities. These findings emphasize the importance of developing employee competency and increasing organizational commitment to create a work environment that is innovative and responsive to existing challenges. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of human resource management theory and practice in organizations. Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kompetensi pegawai terhadap perilaku kinerja inovatif, dengan komitmen organisasi sebagai variabel mediasi, selain itu juga untuk menganalisis pengaruh kompetensi sumber daya manusia (SDM) dan komitmen organisasi terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif, serta peran mediasi komitmen organisasi dalam hubungan antara kompetensi dan kinerja inovatif. Meskipun banyak penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif, hasil yang berbeda juga ditemukan, termasuk penelitian Bodo (2017) yang menyatakan bahwa komitmen organisasi tidak berpengaruh terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif . Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) untuk mengukur hubungan antara variabel bebas dan terikat . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pegawai memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, dengan nilai original sample sebesar 0,744 dan p-value 0,000 . Selain itu, komitmen organisasi berperan penting dalam mendorong perilaku kerja inovatif, di mana karyawan yang memiliki komitmen tinggi lebih terlibat dalam aktivitas inovasi . Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan kompetensi pegawai dan peningkatan komitmen organisasi untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang inovatif dan responsif terhadap tantangan yang ada. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan teori dan praktik manajemen sumber daya manusia di organisasi.
