Abstract
Growth of retail companies in Indonesia have very good potention. Supported by the population and the lifestyle of people who want something more practical in the daily shopping needs. People now prefer to have clean, practical and definite price to shop, without having to bargain as was the case in traditional markets. The research was done in order to determine the effect of the efficient use of funds, profitability, and liquidity of working capital management in retail companies which listed on the Stock Exchange in the year 2007-2010. The sampling method used was purposive sampling method. From a population of 24 retail companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, taken 13 companies that fullfill the criteria of the sample companies listed and actively traded shares from the period 2007-2010, company who have data research that has a complete financial report on the study period, and the company have a positive difference between current assets and current liabilities during the study period. Hypothesis testing is done using multiple linear regression analysis with the first test which includes the classical assumption of data normality test, multikolenieritas, heterokedastisitas, and autocorrelation. Partial regression analysis results show the efficiency of use of funds affect the management of working capital, profitability and liquidity do not have any effect on working capital management. Simultaneously efficient use of funds, profitability, and liquidity has positive and 2significant impact on working capital management. The resulting R value of 50.8% indicates that the independent variables explains the dependent variable is quite large. While the remaining 49.2% is explains by other variables not included in the regression model.
