Abstract
Capital structure decisions or funding decisions is one of the most important decisions faced by financial managers in the continuity of the company's operations. Optimal capital structure will maximize the stock price. This study aims to analyze and identify the effect of profitability, asset growth, and the company size on capital structure. The population used in this study is that the insurance companies listed on the Indnesia Stock Exchange 2006-2011 period. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling method, and obtained a sample of eight insurance companies. Analysis of the data used is the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. Hypothesis testing is done with Partial Significance Testing (t test) and Simultaneous Significance Testing (F Test). The results show that partially profitability and firm size are significant positive. Asset growth is positive, but the effect is not significant. The results show that partially the three independent variables simultaneously affect the capital structure. The 2coefficient of determination (adjusted R ) is 0.183 or 18.3%. This suggests that the independent variables (profitability, asset growth, and firm size) influence the capital structure of 18.3%, while the remaining 81.7% is influenced by other variables outside of the study.
