Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance influence Corporate Governance against the company in Indonesia. Corporate governance is measured by the CGPI (Corporate Governance Perception Index) based on a ranking that has been prepared by IICG (Indonesian Institute of Corporate Governance) and Corporate Performance is measured by the Return on Equity (ROE) and Market to Book Ratio (MBR). The statistical method used is multiple regression analysis. Study sample is a company registered in Jakarta Stock Exchange and the company that consistently for 3 consecutive years, is from the year 2008-2010 included in ratings CGPI. Based on the results of testing of the influence of corporate governance to company performance, it can be concluded that corporate governance has a positive effect on company performance. This is evident in statistics obtained from test results that corporate governance was significant at 0.028 for the market to book ratio or p-value ≤ 0.05 and significant corporate governance at 0.006 for Return on Equity or p-value ≤ 0.05. It means that H0 is rejected. So the company that introduced a system of corporate governance will have an impact on improving the performance of the company.
